Sarah Rafferty Says She Misses ‘That Kind of Laughter’ She Shared with Suits Costar Rick Hoffman on Set

Stars from Suits they reunite and reminisce about their time on the show.

On Saturday 14.09. Suits Costars Rick Hoffman and Sarah Rafferty attended the 2024 Epic Cons to reflect on their time together. When asked by a fan what their favorite memory was from the set, they both had a hard time choosing just one.

“When you work nine years at a job you love, I can’t boil it down to one,” Hoffman said. “There are all the people you like to work with, so break it down to one, to give you that answer, I wish I could honestly tell you that there is this one memory.”

Rafferty then chimed in with a scene she said she remembers often.

“In the first season, when Donna comes into Louis’ office and has the cards, takes them out of her shirt and puts them on the table in front of Louis, we have to improvise most of it,” she revealed. “A lot of times when we had to work together, we had to improve things.”

“That was the most fun,” added Hoffman, who played Louis Litt.

“They just let the camera go,” Rafferty continued. “They just kept going with it, and we went so far away from anything you can see on screen. It became so funny, and that kind of laugh, that’s what I miss in my life — the laughs with Rick.”

Hoffman agreed, saying the freedom with his character was “the most liberating, fun, exciting, creatively rushed moments.”

As for other memorabilia, Rafferty admitted that she has some memorabilia from the set to keep a piece of her Donna Paulsen character with her.

“I totally stole the s–t,” she laughed. “Lots of clothes, I’ve got Donna’s couch… I don’t think anyone’s going to come get me. I’ve got nice clothes. A lot of my shoes actually say ‘Donna’ on them, so I don’t take them off at someone’s house because they’ll say, ‘You’ve got a lot of shoes for someone else lady.'”

‘Suits’ cast: Where are they now?

The series centers on a fictional law firm in New York and follows the exploits of Mike Ross Patrick J. Adams, who manages to land a job as an attorney despite never attending law school. Of course, Mike spends a number of seasons hoping to keep his big secret to himself, but eventually it comes out.

In addition to Adams, the series also starred Garbiel Macht as Harvey Spectre, Hoffman as Louis Litt, Rafferty as Donna Paulson, Gina Torres as Jessica Pearson and Meghan Markle as Rachel Zane.

Although the series ended in 2019 after 11 seasons, it remains a favorite among fans around the world.

Suits became a smash hit for Netflix after releasing the series in June 2023 and became one of Netflix’s most streamed series in 2023. Its popularity undoubtedly paved the way for an upcoming spinoff series titled Fits LA on NBC.

Epic Cons won’t be the first time the cast has reunited in recent memory.

Torres, Hoffman and Rafferty reprized their roles when they appeared in the trailer for elf Cosmetics’ Super Bowl 2024 commercial. During a cast reunion at the ATX TV Festival in Austin, Texas in June, Adams, Rafferty, Dulé Hill, Abigail Spencer and Amanda Schull marked five years since the series finale.

When an audience member asked Adams about the possibility of a Suits film, agreed that a cinematic addition to the franchise could be a potential prospect.

“Yes, and I say this as a person who does not have power or authority, but clearly there is Suits: LA show that is being made that is the focus of [Suits creator] Aaron [Korsh]. I think he would agree – said the 43-year-old actor.

“But it’s definitely something he’s interested in, trying to get the band back together,” he added of Korsh, noting that Suits the film is “will depend on a million things if it can happen.”

“But is it possible? I think it is possible,” he said.
