Saran Raj (1994-2023) was an Indian actor and assistant director who mainly shot South Indian films. He died in a car accident on June 8, 2023, in Chennai. He was riding his motorcycle without a helmet at the time of the accident. Saran died on the spot when a car driven by young actor Palaniappan hit his bike.

On June 8, 2023, a junior artist named Palaniappan rammed his car into Saran’s motorcycle. The accident took place on Arcot Road in KK Nagar around 11.30 pm. Saran was seriously injured and died on the spot. Palaniappan was reportedly driving the car while intoxicated. The accident occurred at 11.30 pm when Palaniappan was driving on Arcot Road in KK Nagar. Saran died on the spot. A passer-by quickly called the nearby police. After investigation, it was found that Palaniappan from Saligramam was responsible for the accident. Police reportedly arrested him. Local police also discovered that Saran was not wearing a helmet while riding a motorcycle, resulting in serious head injuries.
