Sasha Pieterse is a double whammy A picture of you.
From Republic Pictures (published by Paramount Pictures), the thriller (in theaters May 10) based on the hit novel by Adele Parks stars Sweet little liars actress as Anna — and Zoe, identical twins in a “twisted tale of deception and desire,” according to the official synopsis.
“Anna and Zoe find their relationship tested by Anna’s new love, Nick,” played by Parker Young. The synopsis continues: “While trusting Anna is relentless, her skeptical sister Zoe senses a web of deceit. But as Zoe digs for the truth, everyone is drawn into a dangerous game where honesty could prove fatal.”

“I don’t trust him,” Zoe says in the film’s trailer, which he shared exclusively with PEOPLE. “He’s too handsome not to be a complete tool.”
“Maybe this one is different,” whispers Oscar winner Mira Sorvino, who plays the twins’ mother Alexia. She can later be heard screaming in terror and at one point begs Zoe, “Please don’t do anything reckless.”
“When have I ever done anything reckless?” retorts Zoe, who is seen meeting Nick alone – and crossing the line with her sister’s fiance.

In November, the 28-year-old Pieterse started the promotion A picture of you after the SAG-AFTRA Hollywood actors’ strike. “I can finally start sharing the behind the scenes of my new movie, Image of You! So many more photos to come,” teased the actress in the description on Instagram.
In another post shortly after, Pieterse posted a photo of herself standing with costar Young, whose mouth was hanging open in horror. “What are you so afraid of @parker.young 😇 #imageofyou,” she wrote.

Speaking to PEOPLE in 2019, Pieterse ended her hit show Sweet little liars, which starred Alison DiLaurentis, “the end of one chapter and the beginning of a new one.” She has since launched a lifestyle website and cookbook called Sasha in good taste.
“Acting is obviously always something that will be a part of my life and I hope to always continue that way, but I think Sasha in good taste will be a big part of the next few years,” she said at the time.
A picture of you, also starring Nestor Carbonella, was directed by Jeff Fisher and adapted by Chris Sivertson and Parks from her 2017 best-selling novel. A British bestselling author, Parks was awarded the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire for her literature.
Republic Pictures will release A picture of you in select theaters and digitally on May 10.
