Satinder Sartaaj is an Indian singer, songwriter, poet and actor who works in the Punjabi film and music industry. He came into limelight with the song “Sai” from his music album Sartaaj (2010). A Sufi master and a doctorate in Sufi music, Sartaj is considered a singer of rare quality.

Satinder Sartaaj was born on Tuesday, August 31, 1982 as Satinder Pal Singh Saini (41 years old; as of 2023) in Bajrawar village, Hoshiarpur, Punjab. His zodiac sign is Virgo. Sartaaj completed his initial schooling from Government Primary School (GPS), Bajrawal, Hoshiarpur. He also attended government schools in Chabewal and Patti villages in Hoshiarpur. He has loved music since childhood and started performing in Baal-Sabhas in the third grade. Sartaaj graduated with honors from the Music Department of Punjab Government College, Hoshiarpur. Additionally, he completed a five-year diploma in classical music from Sangeet Vishard College, Jalandhar.
Thereafter, Sartaj studied at Panjab University, Chandigarh, where he pursued a Master of Philosophy of Music (M. Phil.) and subsequently received a PhD in Sufi poetry.
To gain a deeper understanding of the concept of Sufi poetry, Sartaj further pursued a certificate course and diploma in Persian. Before venturing into the music industry, Sartaaj taught in the music department of Punjab University for 6 years.

Satinder Sartaaj started his career as a singer in 2009 with the music album Tere Qurbaan. However, the album failed to impress the audience. In 2010, he came into the limelight with the song “Sai” from the album “Sartaaj”. The album also contains quite popular songs Nikki Jehi Kuri and Filhaal Hawavan. Later, he released a Punjabi music album, Cheerey Wala Sartaaj (2011), which included songs like Motia Chameli, Dil Sabh De Vakhre, Cheere Waleya and Adhi Kick Ch Start Mera Yamaha.
