Satish Jarkiholi is an Indian politician, businessman and social worker. He has been a member of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly (MLA) since 2008 and has served as a minister in different state governments of Karnataka. He is famous for his propaganda campaigns against Hindu superstition.

Satish Laxmanrao Jarkiholi was born on Friday, June 1, 1962 in Gokak, Belgaum, Karnataka, India (Age 61; as of 2023) . His zodiac sign is Gemini. He passed his 12th class examination in 1981 from JS S College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Gokak. After graduation, he became involved in sugar processing business and politics.

He followed Hinduism; however, he actively worked to spread awareness against Hindu superstitions. Every year on December 6 (B R Ambedkar’s birthday), he sleeps in the graveyard. He often files election nominations during Rahu Kaal or Rahu Kalam, a period that is considered unsuitable for any good work. He is the president of Kalyan Rajya, an anti-superstition movement in Karnataka, and the president of Manava Bandhutva Vedike, an anti-superstition organization.

He won the MLC election from Belgaum district local government constituency twice between 1998 and 2008. In 2006, he joined the Indian National Congress (INC). He has been a member of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly (MLA) representing Yemakanmardi constituency since 2008. On March 11, 2020, he became the working president of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC).

He contested the 2021 Lok Sabha (LS) by-election from Belgaum constituency after the death of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Suresh Angadi. Suresh’s wife Mangala Suresh Angadi contested the election on the ticket of the BJP and defeated Satish by a margin of 5,240 votes, his first victory in nearly 30 years. Lost an election for the first time.

He manages his family business of sugar manufacturing and the factories of Satish Sugars Ltd., Belgaum Sugars Pvt. He also founded a mining company, J&G Mines and Minerals Exports Ltd, in 2005.

In November 2022, a video went viral in which he said that the word “Hindu” has a very dirty meaning and is of Persian origin. He later claimed that there should be a discussion on the term Hinduism and its origins.
