Satyen Kappu is a veteran Indian actor. He is best known for his role as Ramlal in the iconic Bollywood film Sholay (1975).

Profession
In 1952, he started working as a theater actor with the Indian People’s Theater Association (IPTA) in Bombay. He appeared in more than 390 films from the early 1960s to the 2000s. He made his acting debut in the Bollywood film Kabuliwala (1961). Some of his Hindi films include Sapno Ka Saudagar (1968), Chhoti Bahu (1971), Seeta Aur Geeta (1972), Do Gaz Zameen Ke Neeche (1972), Yaadon Ki Baaraat (1973)), Benaam (1974), Kala Sona (1975), Don (1978), Burning Train (1980), Main Aur Mera Haathi (1981), Naseeb Apna Apna (1986)) and “Raja Bhaiya” (2003).
He played Amitabh Bachchan’s father in the Bollywood film “Deewaar” (1975). He voiced the main villain in “Gehri Chaal” (1973) and provided the dialogue for Mohammed Al Fardin in “Subah-O-Shaam” (1972).

He died on October 27, 2007 in Sunder Nagar, Mumbai; due to cardiac arrest. It is understood that he is a diabetic and suffers from high blood pressure. His funeral was held at Oshihara Crematorium in Mumbai.
