Savannah Chrisley Reveals Julie Sent Her a Card on Mother's Day as She Cares for Siblings amid Parents' Prison Sentences

Savannah Chrisley opens up about her mother Julie’s sweet gesture behind bars.

In her last episode Unlocked podcast — in which the reality star visited an Arizona prison to speak with incarcerated women — Savannah, 27, shared that Julie gave her a token of appreciation for her role in raising her siblings Grayson, 18, and Chloe, 11, while are she and her husband Todd Chrisley and serve a prison sentence.

“Mother’s Day is coming up and she’s sending me a Mother’s Day card because I’m babysitting,” she revealed.

“And birthdays come when she sends like little yarn, like crocheted things. After all, these are things like that, the little ones stick together,” she added.

Savannah also noted that her mom is there when she’s having a “bad day” despite being behind bars, adding, “She calls and just like I said, it’s never giving up. That’s literally all. It’s never giving up.”

She added: “[She is] I keep calling … we talk about normal things regardless of whether I am [in a] she fights with my boyfriend and she doesn’t talk about prison.”

Savannah Chrisley suffered a ‘total breakdown’ over caring for her siblings amid her parents’ prison terms

Todd, 55, and Julie, 51, were found guilty of bank fraud and tax evasion in June 2022. That November, Todd was sentenced to 12 years in prison and 16 months of probation, while Julie was sentenced to seven years in prison and 16 months of probation in November 2022 They began appealing their case a month before they reported to their prisons in January 2023. Their sentences were reduced by almost two years in September 2023.

At an appeals hearing in April 2024, a judge upheld Julie’s appeal and overturned her seven-year sentence in June due to lack of evidence, while Todd’s sentence was upheld. However, in September, Julie was sentenced to the same 84 months in prison that she had previously received.

During a hearing in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia in downtown Atlanta, Julie stood before Judge Eleanor L. Ross and apologized for her actions. Savannah and her brother Chase Chrisley were in attendance.

Savannah Chrisley says Chloe’s sweet Mother’s Day letter made her cry

In an episode of her podcast UnlockedSavannah talked about her family’s Mother’s Day celebration, which included a sweet card from Chloe.

“Mother’s Day, I don’t know. It just felt weird. I don’t even know if it was, like, bad, but it was weird,” Chrisley said at the time. “I mean, Chloe and Grayson are freakin’ angel kids. They’re the sweetest kids in the whole world and they make it so easy.”

“But Chloe wrote me a letter for Mother’s Day, and the letter says, ‘Happy Mother’s Day Savannah. I know you didn’t expect me and Grayson to get your hands on it, but you’re doing a great job with me and Grayson. Keep up the good work, Chloe. ‘”

“And literally, the first time I read it, I just burst into tears because it’s the cutest, I mean, she’s 11 and she’s been dealt really crappy cards,” she added.

Noting that Chloe seems to be making the best of her difficult situation, Chrisley says the letter led her to an important realization.

“You’re doing a pretty good job with these kids and making them feel how they need to feel and just show up,” Chrisley said to herself.
