When Savannah Chrisley first met her boyfriend Robert Shiver’s children, she wasn’t introduced as his girlfriend, but as a friend.
In this week’s episode of her podcast Unlocked with Savannah ChrisleyThe 27-year-old reality TV star was with her boyfriend Shiver, 40, and they discussed the details of their relationship, including when she first met his three sons, who she shares with her ex-wife.
“That’s one thing you and I haven’t been in doubt about from the beginning that, yes, I’ve enjoyed spending time with you, and I want to spend more time with you. But our children come first,” says Chrisley, referring to her siblings Grayson and Chloe, of whom she is the legal guardian while her parents serve time in prison.
“Yeah, we made that clear, I think from the beginning,” Shiver agrees.

“It was clear from the very beginning that it was about their emotional well-being, what they needed, how we could show ourselves to them. And because we did that, there wasn’t this, ‘Oh, we’re going to have a weekend here, a weekend there,’” Chrisley continues.
“We’re 24/7 parents, so I’ve seen some things like, ‘Oh, you shouldn’t introduce them to your kids so quickly.’ And people don’t take into account that it’s easy to date when you have a normal divorce and the kids are split 50/50 because if that was the case, I wouldn’t have met guys for probably a year.”
For both Chrisley and Shiver, it was important that their children liked their partners since they are both single parents and spend most of their time with their families.
“Yeah, I think a big step in any relationship is bringing someone new in front of people you’re 100% dependent on and love more than anything in the world,” says Shiver. “And you know I think you just have to make a decision. If you see a future with someone, then it makes sense to meet them because it’s important to me that your children…”
“They have to love the person you’re with,” says Chrisley.
When it came time for Chrisley to meet Shiver’s children, the two say they took it slow.
“How… because some of the questions were how did you introduce the boys to me?” Chrisley asks. “And the way I talk more about his and the intro is because mine are completely different. They are my brothers and sisters. That’s the thing.”
“We have a weird…I have to raise them to make sure they turn out to be decent, kind human beings and know structure, but at the same time we’re still brothers and sisters,” she says. “So it’s not like, ‘Hey, you’re going to meet so-and-so. It’s a whole different dynamic. So, how did you meet my guys?’
“The first thing is that my kids are my whole world and if that was a huge red flag, it probably would have been whenever we met,” Shiver says. “Or whenever I met them. But it wasn’t. And at first I introduced you as, ‘This is just a friend,’ and I think Grayson and Chloe were with you.”
Chrisley interrupts and says that her siblings were actually introduced as friends of his friends.
“Oh yes, that’s right. that’s right. Then things just progressed and it naturally led to them being told more information,” says Shiver.
“And also, they’re very, very smart. The oldest two in particular pay attention to a lot,” adds Chrisley.
News of Chrisley’s relationship with Shiver, who had been married to now-ex Lindsay Shiver since 2007, broke in September 2023. Shiver previously made headlines in July 2023 after surviving an alleged assassination plot orchestrated by Lindsay , who is the mother of his three children and her alleged boyfriend Terrence Bethel.
