A SCHOOL STUDENT was rushed to hospital with a fractured skull after being shot in the head with an ‘air weapon’.
The 11-year-old climbed over the fence to retrieve a soccer ball when he was hit by a metal ball.

Police say he’s lucky to be alive.
The boy was playing with his friends on Roadtrain Avenue in Leyland, Lancashire, when the terrifying incident happened at around 7.20pm on Monday.
He was rushed to Alder Hey Hospital for surgery after suffering a fractured skull.
It is assumed that it was fired from an air weapon.
A spokesman for Lancashire Police confirmed the boy is now recovering in hospital.
Det Con Paul Brown, of Southern CID, said: “This incident has left a boy with really significant injuries, and it’s fortunate that he wasn’t more seriously injured or even killed.
“We are carrying out a number of inquiries to try and identify the person or persons responsible and I would appeal to anyone who saw what happened, has any CCTV or Ring doorbell footage or who has any information that could help our investigation to come forward.
“I’m sure someone in the local community knows who is responsible for what happened to this young man and I would urge them to come and speak to us.
