Schools closed in UP: Due to heavy rain, all schools in Lucknow will remain closed today. The Uttar Pradesh government has issued a notification to inform government and private educational institutions about the closure of schools. A one-day holiday was declared for all classes, including urban and rural ones, up to the 12th grade.

Lucknow District Magistrate Suryapal Gangwar has issued a formal notice to school principals and education officers, ordering the closure of all schools in the district. The decision comes in light of the meteorological department’s weather advisory, which predicts heavy rain with the possibility of lightning.

Heavy rainfall in Lucknow, UP

The population was duly advised to stay indoors, considering that the roads and surrounding areas were flooded due to intense rainfall. The Uttar Pradesh government reports significant disruptions in traffic flow as a result of adverse weather conditions. Lucknow witnessed the heaviest monsoon downpour of the year, with rainfall exceeding 90 mm in a span of 12 hours.

35 districts in UP will witness moderate rain

Due to cyclonic circulation conditions, many districts in Uttar Pradesh are expected to receive varying degrees of rainfall today. The Meteorological Department has indicated that Etawah, Auraiya, Gonda, Kannauj, Ayodhya and Basti can expect heavy to very heavy rain. In addition, light to moderate rain accompanied by thundershowers will occur in approximately 35 districts.
