School closures in Himachal Pradesh: Schools in Himachal Pradesh will remain closed until July 22, 2023. The decision to close schools was made following severe landslides and floods in the state. By order of the Deputy Commissioner, Kunnaur County, all Government/Private Schools, Preschools and Anganwadis in the Nichar and Tehsil Sangla Divisions of Kunnaur County will remain closed until July 22, 2023.
Three people were injured while nine vehicles were damaged in a cloud in Himachal Pradesh’s Kullu’s Kias village this week. The state has been affected by floods and landslides with 108 deaths reported as of July 17, 2023. Students, staff and parents should heed the posted notice and wait for the next announcement regarding the reopening of schools.
Schools closed in some parts of India
Schools in Mumbai and Konkan of Maharashtra will remain closed on July 19, 2023. A holiday has been announced due to rainfall in the area. IMD has issued red alert in Palghar and Raigad districts and orange alert in Thane, Mumbai and Ratnagiri districts. Schools in Mumbai will remain closed until further notice.
Schools closed in Telangana
The Telangana state government has announced a two-day holiday for schools across the state due to heavy rainfall in the state. According to Education Minister Sabitha Reddy, public holidays have been announced for July 20 and 21, 2023. Further updates on reopening will be announced soon.
