As a teenager, Scott Mills suffered a mutilated anxiety and panic attacks, and for six months he was unable to go to school because he was so terrified by leaving the house.
But now the beloved DJ Radio 2 is preparing for the reins of the biggest show in Europe – and insists that it does not sweat it, despite the fact that it will broadcast more than six million people every day.

Scott is being criticized by his salary of the BBC, pointing out that he worked on Topcredit: delivered
This is because, despite more than three decades on the radio, Scott’s 2014 is strictly – where he dressed as a dance cancer under the sea – what he believes he made him fearless.
In an exclusive interview with Bizarre, he explained: “There is nothing scary. Doing things that are scary have actually really helped me.
“I would say it is a strict turning point of my life. If you can do it, it’s easy compared to.”
And after all the years behind the microphone, this new show is the biggest incentive of adrenaline.
He smiled, “The sound of opening that microphone on Radio 2, I can’t describe it to you. It’s just different.
‘No buzzing like’
“It’s just because it’s such a beast. It’s like my God, you actually set the agenda for people’s day. It’s wild. No buzzing.
“It’s like the biggest, the most terrible roller. It’s better than that.”
He took over the play from his good friend Zoe Ball, who gave up in December after six years of catering show for breakfast, and he has her approval stamp after he first crossed the trails at work in the 1990s.
He said, “Zoe was the first person to really take me under her lap on Radio 1.
Discovered the replacement of Scott Mills Radio 2
“I talked to her over the weekend and she said when she discovered that I took over her show, she just cried.
“It was like that, it’s a legal owner. So it’s really sweet.”
What is inevitable is the main jump in the salary for Scott. And this will probably be publicly now that the BBC announces how much their highest recipients have received, and Zoein’s salary has recently been discovered as around £ 950,000 a year.

Scott said Bizarre’s Howell Davies once earned only £ 20 at the beginning of his Careercredit: Delivered
But he goes away all the potential criticism for his salary.
Scott said, “I’ve been doing this since I was 16 and I’ll tell you how much I paid for then – 20 £ in the show. And it was a five -hour show in the middle of the night, 1 to 6 in the morning.
“Obviously there is always curiosity about the salary because they are published every year.
“But I don’t think you can say I didn’t play a long game.
“It’s not like some hotshot appearances and making all that money. No one likes to discuss money.
“But here’s what you don’t get is that people go,” Oh, I bet your burden is paid. ”
“What you get are people who listened to you through school, college, un, work, marriage, divorce, again marriage, children.
“So, they are actually full of congratulations. And I think the same will be true of the terrible ‘S’ words – pay. I don’t think anyone will be like,” Well, he doesn’t deserve it. “
“I hope people will not think,” Well, he didn’t bother to do it very much, “because I’ve done it all my life.”
Although it was his dream for a long time, it didn’t always take a smoothly for Scott.
Remembering his beginning on a hospital radio, he said, “They wouldn’t let me inside.
“They said I was not allowed to use the equipment. Therefore, they forbade me the building at the age of 12.”
The days of the party have long gone through, so I’m fine. I barely drink now. And I think that’s probably a good thing for me.
And when he eventually started sending demo cassettes on Radio 1, he warned that he would make “pests”.
Scott explained, “I still have a letter somewhere. It was the early 1990s and they were like,” It was okay, but please don’t send them too often otherwise, otherwise you’ll end up on our DJ pests. “
But his performance after Brit Awards in 2001 almost ended his career, when he went into the air for his groove at 4 o’clock and broke through the show.
He said, “I think this is the thing I regret the most in my life to this day.
“I just took it. I’m a boy from Eastleigh. I’m not used to seeing Kylie Mingoue and Justin Timberlake. And people were like a drink?” And I was like, “Yes!”
“By the way, this is not an excuse – I hate myself for that.
“I won’t do it anymore. I made a bullet there massively.
“They could only release me right. But they gave me another opportunity.”

A new beginning
And meeting his wife himself-s married last summer at the star ceremony-he spoke him.
He continued, “The days of the party have long gone through, so I’m fine. I barely drink now. And I think that’s probably a good thing for me.
“In terms of work, for sure, a happy wife, a happy wife actually actually makes you better on the radio because you are less break up.
“I feel the happiest I ever felt.”
And now it’s full of excitement to start things at 6.30 on Monday, with a show full of new ideas.
He said, “The thing is on this show, there are more time and there are more people. It’s the biggest show, so you can have a crazy idea and that can happen.
“I think the radio is missing a little right now.
“I want you to be in the car and you can’t get out of it. I want you to laugh at turning your head, then you go and speak to all your friends, what’s going on.
“And I want a little of that delusion.”
I would not expect anything less.
