Cobra Kai Season 5: Everything you need to know about Sean Kanan and his character
Sean Kanan was born in Ohio on November 2, 1966. Over the years, he played a number of notable roles in famous films and television series. He is known for his roles in legendary soap operas such as General Hospital, The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful, along with his appearance as Mike Barnes in The Karate Kid III.
Verotica, Outlaw and 10 attitudes are just some of his film achievements. He has also received and been nominated for several accolades, including an Independent Series Award for Outstanding Lead Actor for his work on Studio City, a Soap Opera Digest Award nomination for his work on ABC’s General Hospital, and many others. Mike Barnes, Kanan’s most famous character, originally debuted in the 1989 action film The Karate Kid Part III. Barnes is a gifted martial artist who has won several major competitions across the country. In his early days he was known as a brutal karate fighter.
Terry Silver, the main villain in The Karate Kid Part III, recruits Barnes after reading about him in a magazine. Silver wants Barnes to win the next All Valley karate tournament against Daniel LaRusso. Details of Barnes’ involvement in the fifth season of Cobra Kai are being kept under wraps. The creators, Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg, said in an interview with Netflix:
“As Terry Silver calls in some old acquaintances to strangle the Valley, Daniel and Johnny will need all the support they can get to stop Cobra Kai in his tracks.”

The fifth season of Cobra Kai will continue to focus on Daniel LaRusso’s battle with Terry Silver, who is trying to expand his ruthless empire. In May of this year, Netflix released a teaser that gives a glimpse of the myriad of exciting events that will take place this season. Viewers are in for another exciting and entertaining release full of breathtaking action sequences.
Along with the teaser, Netflix’s official YouTube page released a synopsis for the show’s upcoming fifth season, which reads:
“After the devastating results of the All Valley Tournament, Terry Silver expands the Cobra Kai empire and tries to make his ‘No Mercy’ brand of karate the only game in town. With Kreese in jail and Johnny Lawrence focused on repairing the damage he’s done, Daniel LaRusso must turn to an old acquaintance for help.”
