Leighton Meester’s new Christmas movie includes a special goat scene!

In two new videos BuzzFeed Studios shared exclusively with PEOPLE from Meester’s romantic comedy CHRISTMASthe Gossip girl alum, 37, and her co-star Robbie Amell worked with a goat named Buster for their new film Frevee, which begins airing on Friday.

In an exclusive clip from the film, Meester’s character Ali is surprised by an animal during a Santa-themed holiday event when a goat escapes from its pen. And in an exclusive behind-the-scenes clip shared with PEOPLE, animal trainer Sarah Nicholls introduces the goat as Buster, a six-year-old Nubian goat who worked on set with Meester, Amell and the rest of the cast.

“He’s a very smart goat and can be a real problem,” the animal trainer says of Buster.

“I’ve never worked with baby goats before. No,” says Meester in a backstage interview. – I can say that for sure.

CHRISTMAS follows Meester and Amell as a former couple who broke off their engagement. Graham (Amell) initially tells his family that he can’t come home for Christmas, so his parents, still close to his ex-fiancée, invite Ali to spend the holidays with them instead – leading Ali and Graham to engage in a competition of sorts u determine who can stay. “When Graham Stroop decides to surprise his family by traveling home for Christmas, he’s shocked to find they’re already celebrating with an unexpected guest of honor, his ex-fiancée Ali,” reads the film’s official synopsis. “Two exes battle it out to see who the family will choose to stay until Christmas and who must go. Let the hilarious holiday mayhem begin!”

Meester’s new film marks her second film appearance in 2023 after starring opposite Adam Brody and Taran Killam in Wild river. CHRISTMAS is directed by Jonah Feingold (At midnight) and written by the former Gossip girl writer Dan Steele. The film’s cast includes Michael Hitchcock, Kathryn Greenwood, Veronika Slowikowska and Stephen Huy.

CHRISTMAS starts streaming on Freevee in the US, UK, Germany and Austria on Friday.
