Seema Pahwa is a popular Indian actor and film director. She is the wife of famous Indian actor Manoj Pahwa. She is best known for her role as “Badki” in the hit Hindi television series “Hum Log” (1984).

Parents and siblings
Her father died when she was very young. Her mother Saroj Bhargava has performed on shows on All India Radio and Doordarshan. She has an older brother who passed away a few years ago, an older sister who is married, and a younger brother Abhay Bhargava who is an actor.
Her brother Abhay is the father of Indian television actor Ankita Bhargava, who is married to Karan Patel.
Seema’s nephew Mohammad Zeeshan Ayyub is an actor known for playing many popular roles in Hindi films, especially as Dhanush’s friend in the Hindi film Raanjhanaa (2013).
Relationships, Husbands and Children
Seema Bhargava met the famous Indian TV actor Manoj Pahwa while working with the theater group “Sambhav Group”. Seema and Manoj became friends and soon they fell in love with each other. They were tied together in the popular Hindi television series Hum Log (1984). The couple tied the knot on January 23, 1988 and have a daughter, Manukriti, and a son, Mayank, both of whom are actors. In 2017, there were rumors that her son was engaged to Shahid Kapoor’s sister Sana Kapoor.

Her mother was a stage artist and during her childhood, Seema often accompanied her to various stage performances. Seema’s mother first asked her to audition for an acting role when she was five years old, and she auditioned for musician and writer PL Deshpande. She has also worked as a child artist in several Hindi films.
Later, she started working as a theater artist with renowned theater companies such as Sambhav Theater Company, LTG, Shri Ram Center and National Academy of Drama Repertory Company.
After getting married and having two children, she moved to Mumbai with her family from Delhi. In an interview, she shared her journey as an actor, saying:
I acted in Katha Collage I directed by Naseeruddin Shah and Kambakht Bilkul Aurat with Motley Theater Company. When I grew up, I had worked with all the best directors in Delhi at that time, like BM Vyas, BV Karanth, Bansi Kaul, Bhanu Bharti and Rajinder Nath. I have done everything from street theater to Ramleelas to performing at fairs like the famous Nauchandi Mela.There’s no better way to get away from it all Hicak (Suppression) instead of performing for a crowd in an open space.It was chaos, children howling, people eating Chat, You have to get to them in the midst of all the noise and not knowing how they’re going to react. “
She has acted in many Hindi theater productions such as Aadhe Adhure, Khamosh Adalat Jari Hai, Qaid-e-Hayat and Natsamrat.
She made her debut as an actress in the Hindi television series “Hum Log” (1984), where she played the role of “Badki”. The show was aired on Doordarshan and she gained huge popularity with this show.
She has appeared in several Hindi television serials such as “Pehla Pyar” (1997), “Hip Hip Hurray” (1998), “Aandhi” (2003), “Hum Ladkiyan” (2008) and “Lakhon” Mein Ek” (2012).
As an actress, some of her popular Hindi films include Sardari Begum (1996), Zubeidaa (2001), Ferrari Ki Sawaari (2012), Dum Laga Ke Haisha ( (2015), “Bareilly Ki Barfi” (2017), “Shubh Mangal Saavdhan” (2017) and “Bala” (2019).
In 2019, she tried her hand at directing with the Hindi film Ramprasad Ki Tehrvi. Together with her husband and children, she founded her own theater group “Kopal”. She starred in the Hindi web series “Aafat” in 2019. She has also appeared in some YouTube videos.
