Gomez described her latest role in Emilia Perez as “one of the most challenging things I’ve done.”
Talking about Brainless podcast in January, the actress said. “There’s this scene where they leave me – I don’t give anything – and I remember channeling the moment when I first had to go to rehab and leaving… I felt like it was just becoming that came out when I remembered that first moment and I was terrified so it felt really cathartic.”

“I feel like I have these moments in my life that happen and I can take advantage of it and it’s actually a great feeling, like it’s a good feeling after I’ve had a good cry or something,” she continued.
Despite the many roles she’s played so far, Gomez teased her acting career: “I don’t think I’ve even touched the surface of what I know I’m capable of doing.”
“I am very selective, otherwise I have been in all the films that have been offered to me. I just fight for my roles and I’m always auditioning, so I like to earn it,” she added.
