Selena Gomez Hits the Red Carpet in All-White Satin Suit and Her Diamond Engagement Ring

Newly engaged Selena Gomez opted for a chic menswear-inspired look for her first big event in 2025.

The actress walked the red carpet at the 36th Palm Springs International Film Festival Film Awards on Friday, January 3 in an all-white satin suit that included a structured blazer, tie and pants. At one point while posing on the carpet, she removed her blazer to reveal a matching button-up vest and mesh top.

Gomez wore a natural-looking glam look accented by her slicked-back bun in the middle. She completed her look with her stunning marquise diamond ring – estimated at 6 carats – from fiance Benny Blanco.

The Wizards of Waverly Place alum attended the event to celebrate her film Emilia Perez. The project directed by Jacques Audiard won the Vanguard festival award. Along with Audiard and Gomez, the film’s actors Karla Sofia Gascón, Zoe Saldaña and Edgar Ramírez will receive the award.

In addition to the Vanguard Award, Gomez was also nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress in Emilia Perez. Last month, she told PEOPLE at the Academy Women’s Luncheon hosted by Chanel how “grateful” she was for the nomination.

“I’m overwhelmed, very, very honored and grateful,” Gomez, 32, told PEOPLE ahead of Sunday’s awards show. “I can’t wait to see what happens.”

She also talked about how she deals with unwanted external negativity.

“For me, it’s humor,” she tells PEOPLE. “I know people say it’s a defense mechanism, but I think sometimes it’s a great distraction from the noise. And just to laugh with friends or do something that can bring you some light.”

Speaking of surrounding herself with loved ones, Gomez has been doing just that with Blanco, especially during the holiday season. The two spent Christmas and New Year together as an engaged couple.
