Selena Gomez Jokes She Looks ‘Constipated’ Next to Taylor Swift at VMAs: ‘She Looks Stunning’

Selena Gomez makes fun of herself.

On Tuesday, the singer and actress, 31, posted a snap of herself and her BFF Taylor Swift sharing a sweet moment together at the MTV Video Music Awards with the caption, “She looks amazing, I look constipated.”

“Typical,” she added on her Instagram Story about the photo, which shows Gomez talking to Swift, 33, as the pair embrace.

However, it was a winning night for both close friends, with Swift taking home nine awards, including the prestigious Video of the Year award for “Anti-Hero.” Gomez, meanwhile, won Best Afrobeat with Nigerian singer Rema for their song “Calm Down.”

Swift was spotted as Gomez’s number one fan as she took the stage with Remo to accept the award, and the singer was seen jumping up and down, cheering and he sends kisses to his friend.

“Thank you,” Gomez told the crowd. “Thank you so much Rema for believing in me and thank you for choosing me to be a part of such an amazing song that managed to break records. Thanks everyone for listening, streaming. I couldn’t be more honored. And I want to send all my love to Nigeria, thank you.”

The Just the murders in the building star wore a red beaded Oscar de la Renta gown to the event, and later shared a close-up of her look on her Instagram Story and posted a video of her makeup artist Hung Vanngo.

In the clip, Gomez could be seen pouting and blowing kisses to the camera, as well as strutting down the aisle to show off all the details of her dress, which included floral vines and a thigh-high slit.

In addition to video of the year, Swift’s “Anti-Hero” also won pop and song of the year.

Accepting Moon Person for Video of the Year, the “Karma” singer told the crowd, “OK. This is amazing. This is… I just want to say that the fact that this is a fan-voted award means a lot to me based on the memories we made recently created.”

Swift, who wore a daring black Versace dress with a thigh-high slit, then opened up about her record-breaking Eras Tour, which recently wrapped its US leg.

“I just went on a tour that was the most joyful and exciting experience,” she said. “And we’re not even half done with it. It really feels like the adventure of a lifetime this past year. I can’t believe that a year ago at the VMAs I announced Midnight album. And all I have to say tonight is thank you. I am thrilled. Many thanks to the fans. I love you very much.”
