Selena Gomez Says ‘Some of the Magic Has Disappeared’ amid Emilia Pérez Controversy

Selena Gomez addresses the recent controversies around her film Emilia Pérez.

While on Sunday, February 9, she participated in the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, Gomez, 32, said that she felt that “magic disappeared” with the film after a controversy over the offensive comments of her costaine Karla Sofía Gascón in the resourcedic X posts.

When asked during the board as she was going, Gomez replied, “I’m fine. I’m really good. Some of the magic disappeared, but I decide to continue to be proud of what I did, and I am only grateful.”

“I live without regret and I would do this movie over and over when I could,” she added.

Gomez’s latest comments about the controversy of the film come after Gascón, 52, appeared a tearful appearance on CNN en Español, while in its old tweets addressed the racism and Islamophobia in its old tweets.
