‘Selling the OC’ Star Brandi Marshall Says She’ll ‘Never Regret’ Quarrel with Alex Hall in Cabo (Exclusive)

What happens in Cabo stays in Cabo—unless, of course, it happens on a reality TV show like I am selling OC.

During the second season of the Netflix reality show, which premiered Friday, the cast ventured to Cabo to check out The Oppenheim Group’s first billion-dollar listing.

But during one particularly boozy night south of the border, Kayla Cardona accused Alex Hall of “making out” with Tyler Stanaland the night before.

The argument escalated into a loud argument involving several teammates over who was right, before Brandi Marshall jumped to Cardona’s defense.

“You don’t dictate when and where I can talk about when and where I can talk about whatever I want,” Hall Cardoni said. “You can choose not to answer, but you won’t tell me what to say. I can say whatever I want.”

“Hall, I hate the way you talk to people,” Marshall interjected, later adding, “I hate being put down. We’re equal, man. I don’t like being put down.”

For Marshall and Hall, the fight marked one of several very awkward moments during the second season, in which the two clashed over issues.

Earlier in the season, Marshall confronted Hall about speculation that she and Stanaland were dating.

Elsewhere, the two had a difficult candid conversation in which Marshall admitted that their communication styles were drastically different and incompatible.

To this day, Marshall and Hall have not resolved their differences.

“We don’t talk,” Marshall tells PEOPLE. “Our friendship is that we don’t have one. But I know in some of those moments it was hard to talk to her. In Cab, I felt like Kayla was really it was almost natural for me to jump in. I didn’t even realize when I was doing it, because it felt so natural to protect Kayla at that moment.”

“It is my nature to stand up for others in such times,” she continues. “But for some other parts of the season, maybe I could have handled the Tyler-related part of the dialogue a little more carefully [and] Hall’s relation. But not with Cabo [regret it]. My mom raised me to be who I am, and that’s something I’ll never regret speaking up for a friend who I feel is being put down or treated less.”

“Our friendship is really where it left off at the end of season two, to be honest with you,” she explains. “As other cast members have mentioned, we shot a whole different season after that. We shot the third season — we’re not even done yet — and so there’s still a little bit that goes into it, but for the most part, I wouldn’t call it a friendship at this point.”

Seasons 1 and 2 of I am selling OC are now available to stream on Netflix.
