Serena Williams and Daughter Olympia, 6, Make Their Own Star Wars Lightsabers — Take a Look!

Serena Williams and her daughter Olympia use strength.

The 23-time Grand Slam tennis player, 42, and her 6-year-old daughter went on a trip to Galaxy’s Edge at one of Disney’s theme parks, where they got to make and activate their own Star Wars lightsabers.

She shared a sneak peek of their adventures on her Instagram Story, including their entry into a lightsaber workshop and a master lightsaber who taught them how to make their own lightsabers straight from the legendary Star Wars franchise. He showed off a red kyber crystal that he said belonged to “Darth Vader and now Kylo Ren,” to which Williams proudly declared, “That’s mine.”

The next shot showed Williams selecting her red kyber crystal as one of the workers handed her different crystals to choose from. Her daughter could be heard saying, “You blushed like me, because this one is, like, the darkest.”

The tennis pro also shared a shot of her station and the various parts of the lightsaber she put together. After completing the process, she shared a shot of her hand on the lightsaber before stepping back as one of the workers put her lightsaber into the machine.

“Are you ready?”, the lightsaber master asked them, to which Olympia proudly exclaimed, “Yes!” Williams showed her little girl wrapping her arms around the sword and twirling it as it activated — her daughter’s lightsaber was red, while Williams’s turned blue.

The Olympian turned the camera to her daughter, who looked slightly disappointed when Williams waved her own blue lightsaber, saying: “I thought you were blushing.” The pair then waved their lightsabers around.

While Williams — who shares Olympia and three-month-old Adira with tech entrepreneur husband Alexis Ohanian — can often be seen having fun with her daughters, she’s also not afraid to be honest about the struggles of being a mom.

Earlier this week, Williams shared a light-hearted start to a clip on TikTok of herself posing in the black sequin puff-sleeve dress she wore to the recent 2023 CFDA Awards before switching to a picture of her pumping milk and taking a deep breath.

“What my life is really like… It’s not as glamorous as you think,” the mother of two wrote in the caption.

However, as she revealed in an interview for a family of four, there were also positive sides Party tonight at the CFDA award that Olympia successfully “navigates” as the older sister of Adiri.

“She loves it,” Williams said. “Adira is like a little baby, so Olympia just calls her ‘little sister’.”

As for her own worries about welcoming a second child, Williams admitted, “I was like, ‘OK, I don’t know if I can like anyone as much as I like Olympia.’ I was really nervous about it. But I feel like it all worked out.”
