Severance pay is back for another season, and Apple TV+ has just released the long-awaited first look!
With the conclusion of the first season, fans of the award-winning series finally have a peak at what’s to come for Lumon Industries. Although only a few seconds long, the clip shows Adam Scott as Mark Scout lying on an office conference table before trying to escape after the first season left him and his colleagues on a mission to uncover Lumon’s secrets.
Another short clip shows Mark being greeted by Seth Milchick (Tramell Tillman), the supervisor on the cut-off floor at Lumon. He tells him “Welcome back! It’s been a minute!”
Apple TV+ and Scott also posted a photo on Instagram of his character standing in the all-white Lumon hallways holding a bunch of blue balloons.
“Your innie has already seen this picture,” read the caption. “First Look at Severance Season 2.”

The sci-fi series is about people who join an experiment to separate their personalities between their work life – known as their “innie” – and the real world – their “outie”.
As Mark steps in to deal with his wife’s death, he becomes suspicious after the mysterious disappearance of his best friend and former employee, Lumon Petey. After teaming up with new employee Helly (Britt Lower) and fellow co-workers Dylan (Zach Cherry) and Irving (John Turturro), the first season sees them begin to uncover the company’s web of conspiracies.
Viewers have been dying to get their first look since the second season was confirmed in April 2022.
”It’s really exciting to see the reaction from people who love the show — and the level of fan engagement,” director and executive producer Ben Stiller said in a press release. “It was a long road to bring Severance to television. I first read Dan’s pilot over five years ago. It’s always been a multi-season story and I’m really happy that we can continue it.”

Filming began that year but was halted by a writers’ strike, and it took two years before Scott confirmed the season had finished in April 2024.
“Our main cast is already incredible, but we have some great people coming into season two and I can’t wait for everyone to see them,” he said.

In October 2022, Deadline reported that the second season would welcome eight new cast members, including English actress Gwendoline Christie, best known for Game of Thrones and Wednesdayand Merritt Wever of Sister Jackie and godless.
Actor and writer Bob Balaban (Waiting for Guffman, French dispatch), Alia Shawkat (Arrested development, Search group), Robby Benson (Ice castles, Beauty and the Beast), Stefano Carannante (Mirabilia), Ólafur Darri Ólafsson (A tourist, Captured) and John Noble (Fringe, Basic) will also appear.
