We changed his name to Abhinav so they (her parents) feel he is a Hindu boy but that was really silly and very childish.”
According to Mustaq Sheikh’s book “Shah Rukh Can,” Shah Rukh altered his name to “Jeetendra Kumar Tulli” to marry Gauri according to Hindu wedding rituals; this name was a tribute to the legendary stars Jeetendra and Rajendra Kumar, whose full name is Rajendra Kumar Tulli. Another reason behind this choice was Shah Rukh’s grandmother’s belief that he bore a striking resemblance to Jeetendra.
