Shel Chaturvedi

Shail Chaturvedi (1936 – 2007) was an Indian Hindi satirist, humorist, lyricist and poet. He appeared in several Bollywood movies and TV series like Uphaar (1971), Chitchor (1976), Chameli Ki Shaadi (1986), Kareeb (1998) etc.

With a keen interest in poetry, he started participating in several Kavi Sammelan and delivering humorous political comments. He was called the Hasya Kavi of the 1970s and 1980s. He often appears in the annual Kavi Sammelan show that airs on Doordarshan every year during Holi. He has also appeared in a few Hindi films and TV series.
