Shailene Woodley Was 'All Smiles' While Out on a Date with a Mystery Man in N.Y.C. (Exclusive Source)

Shailene Woodley had a date night with a mystery man in New York.

A source confirms to PEOPLE that it is Stupid money actress, 32, stepped out for dinner with a group of men at the White Horse Tavern in New York City on Wednesday (August 14).

The insider says that Woodley and her companion were “in great spirits, talking together and were seen eating burrata and a platter of dips and had wine on the table,” adding of the couple, “They were casually dressed and all smiled.”

The iconic West Village bar, fronted by Hudson Street Hospitality, recently launched a new menu with chef John DeLucie, who is also the executive chef at neighboring Italian hot spot Ambra.

Page six was the first to report seeing Woodley’s date, while a rep for the actress did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.

Woodley has largely kept her life under wraps since her split from Aaron Rodgers, PEOPLE reported in February 2022.

A source close to the NFL player, 40, confirmed at the time that he and Woodley had gone their separate ways, just over a year after he surprisingly announced that they were engaged.

“It was an amicable breakup; it just didn’t work out,” an insider said at the time. “They’re very different people with busy careers and there were obstacles they couldn’t overcome. They’ll remain friends; there’s no bad blood and no drama. It just didn’t work out for them.”

Woodley seemingly referenced her split from Rodgers in a January 2023 interview with Net-a-Porter’s digital title CARRIERwhere she said “it was hard to film” her Showtime series Three women “because I was going through the darkest, hardest time of my life.”

“It was winter in New York, and my personal life was s—–, so for eight months I felt like a big bubble of pain,” Woodley said. (Three women it was recorded between October 2021 and May of the following year.)

“I was so grateful that I could at least go to work and cry and process my emotions through my character,” she added.

The Divergent the actress also told CARRIER that the attention to her relationship with Rodgers felt “violent,” explaining, “Honestly, it never occurred to me that millions of people around the world were actually watching these things and paying attention to them.”

“Then I dated someone in America who was very, very famous,” Woodley continued. “It was the first time I had a ‘celebrity’ relationship, watching the scrutiny, the opinions, the desire for people to know my life, his life and our life – it felt violent in a way that, yes, it used to be fun.”

She added: “I’m a very private person and I find that whenever I post something, I immediately feel like I’m sharing too much of who I am with people I don’t trust.”

Before Rodgers, Woodley was linked to rugby player Ben Volavola, whom she reportedly met in Fiji while filming the movie Get lost. The Big little lies The star revealed that they had split in an interview with The in April 2020 The New York Times.
