According to reports, her brother was murdered in the same house where she lived and the entire scenario took place when she was out promoting a movie. According to sources, Shanaya was in a relationship with one of the inmates, Niyaz Ahmed Katigar. Shanaya’s brother Rakesh was against their relationship after which Niyaz Ahmed Katigar and Shanaya hatched a plan to murder him. Rakesh’s body was cut into several pieces and dumped at various places in Hubli city. His severed and burnt head was found in the Devargudihal forest area and the rest of the body parts were found at Gadag Road and other areas in Hubli, Karnataka.
