In a popular video, influencer Rob Anderson shared his thoughts after watching the fan-favorite romance film 22 years later.

Next to the West, A walk to Remember stars Mandy Moore, 39, and chronicles the relationship between a stubborn high school student, Landon (West), and his high-achieving classmate, Jamie (Moore).

After being punished and sent to community service, he becomes close to Jamie and quickly falls in love with her. But as the two develop a strong, sweet relationship, Landon learns that his girlfriend is living with leukemia and nearing the end of her life.

As audiences have adored the film for the past few decades, Anderson shared his insight into several of the film’s plots.

While mocking, he commented and applauded Moore’s rendition of “Only Hope,” during the fictional couple’s performance in their school play.

“Jamie sings the best pop ballad ever,” Anderson said. “Also her character wrote this song and every other song in the musical. She is quite a talented girl to die for.”

While West saw humor in Anderson’s review, the actor shared his appreciation for the role in a recent interview with New York Post.

“But even at that moment, I was so happy that people liked it and loved it, and that kind of helped me,” he recalled.

West went on to share how he wasn’t aware of the kind of impact the film would have on audiences at the time — or in the future. He admitted that he didn’t know “that people would still be talking about it to this day.”

While Moore’s character met a tragic fate in the film, West said he can’t wait to reunite with Moore in “any capacity.”

“I love her. She’s great,” West said. “She’s a wonderful human being and a great person.” While West toyed with the idea of reuniting with his former co-star, he said he believes fans want the pair to reunite in “some kind of romantic capacity.”
