Shanmukh Jaswanth was born on Friday, September 16, 1994 as Shanmukh Jaswanth Kandregula (27 years old in 2021) from Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. Although Shanmukh never took professional dance classes, he was interested in performing arts from a young age.

Shanmukh Jaswanth launched his YouTube channel in July 2012 and uploaded his first video, Cadbury Laddu Ad By Shanmukh, while appearing in several videos of VIVA, a YouTube channel that produces entertainment content. In 2013, he outperformed other actors in the YouTube video The Viva by Sabarish Kandregula, which went viral on the internet. In the video, Shanmukh amused the audience with his illogical definition of optical fiber.

Since then, he has appeared in various VIVA videos such as “An Interview with Subarish Khandregula” (2013), “The Fat Man Proposes” (2016), and the “Viva News” series.

In an interview, Shanmukh revealed that soon after working with VIVA, he found himself being typecast as a pointless and stupid interviewee. He said,
After VIVA, I received some offers, but my role was limited to VIVA, which did not interest me. I was looking for a role with substance.
Later, he started uploading dance covers of various Hindi songs such as Hosanna, Kala Chashma and Bezuban. On 10 January 2017, he gained recognition after uploading a dancer cover of the song “You and Me” from the film Khaidi No 150 (2017) on his YouTube channel.
Although his dance covers were very popular, he had to stop making them as he started facing copyright issues from different filmmakers. His performance in the YouTube comedy series Man is a Man was also appreciated. In 2020, he came into the limelight with the Telugu comedy series Software DevLOVEper, in which he played Mr. Shannu, a shy middle-class boy working in a software company, who falls in love with Vaishnavi and she treats him like a friend.
He has also acted in several short films such as Seetha I’m Not A Virgin (2017), Boomerang (2017), and Chaturvyuha (2018). As of 2021, his YouTube channel has over 2 million subscribers.
