Shannon Beador was charged after being arrested for DUI hit and run.
The The Real Housewives of Orange County star, 59, was charged Friday with two misdemeanors by the Orange County District Attorney, PEOPLE confirms. She faces one count of DUI and one count of hit and run after the incident last month.
The reality star had a blood-alcohol content of 0.24, three times the legal limit, law enforcement officials told TMZ, which first reported the news.
PEOPLE has reached out to Beador’s representative for comment.
The Newport Beach Police Department previously confirmed to PEOPLE that Beador “was arrested at 1:17 a.m. on Sept. 17 after fleeing the scene of a crash that caused property damage.” The reality star was ticketed for two misdemeanors — hit-and-run and DUI — and released on bond, according to the NBPD.
According to TMZ’s initial report, police found her walking her dog after allegedly leaving her car in the middle of the road.

Beador’s attorney, Michael L. Fell, told PEOPLE in a Sept. 18 statement that his client is “prepared to accept full responsibility.”
“She is very apologetic and remorseful,” Fell said at the time. “We will await official information on this case as it becomes available, and Shannon is prepared to accept full responsibility for her actions.”

That same day, Beadora’s friend and Bravo co-star Jeff Lewis addressed the situation on his SiriusXM talk show, admitting he was “shocked” and that her actions were out of character.
“Unfortunately [Shannon] got a DUI on Saturday night. She also had a car accident. She was injured, so she’s going to recover,” said Lewis, 53. “Shannon and I have been friends for a very long time. I was shocked – she called me yesterday and we talked for a while – and I was shocked because I never knew Shannon ever, ever drank and drove.”

“I will tell you that she accepts full responsibility,” he continued. – She is ashamed, she is ashamed.
The Bravo star also noted that he doesn’t believe his friend is an “alcoholic” but instead “goes through a lot of personal struggles.”
“People say, ‘Oh, she needs rehab,’ ‘Oh, she’s an alcoholic’ — I don’t think Shannon is an alcoholic,” he added. “I think she’s going through a lot of personal issues at the moment and I think she’s reliant on alcohol – but I don’t think she’s an alcoholic.”

On the September 18 episode of her podcast Two T’s in a capsulecolleague RHOC star Tamra Judge discussed Beador’s actions with co-host Teddi Mellencamp and guest Cynthia Bailey. The trio also expressed shock over the situation.

“I’m literally shaking right now. I feel like I’m going to throw up,” the 56-year-old reality star said of the news at the time. “I don’t even know if that’s true. I talked to Shannon yesterday, she didn’t say a word—nothing.”
More RHOC Alum, Braunwyn Windham-Burke also spoke out about Beadora’s arrest, noting that she was “going through a tough year.”
“I know Shannon has a big heart and I hope this can become her story where this is the moment when everything changed for the better,” Windham-Burke, 45, said. US Weekly. “Obviously, what happened is wrong. She should never drink and drive. It was a very unfortunate night for her, but luckily no one was hurt.”
Earlier this year, Beador spoke of feeling “blindsided” after her boyfriend of three-and-a-half years, John Janssen, ended their relationship.

“I’ve never loved anyone more in my life,” Beador said in one episode RHOC. “I hoped this was the man I would spend the rest of my life with. I wanted it to work. I’ve never loved anyone the way I loved John. But obviously, he didn’t feel the same way.”
Additionally, the star was reportedly removed from a bar earlier this year after a “screaming” altercation with Janssen’s daughter. Although she later admitted to the disagreement, she vehemently denied that she had been “kicked out”.

“The lights were on [and] they were saying, ‘Everybody wrap it up,'” Beador said Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. “They didn’t kick me out, but I asked security to help me with Uber. That was it. … I was absolutely not kicked out.”
