Sharon Prabhakar is an Indian singer, theater actor, public speaker and international corporate trainer. She was known as the Indian pop diva of the 1980s for her work in pop and disco music genres. Sharon is also a life coach.

Sharon Prabhakar was born on Thursday, August 4, 1955, in Delhi, India (age 68; as of 2023). Her zodiac sign is Leo. She grew up cross-culturally due to her parents’ different religious backgrounds. Her father is Punjabi and her mother is Christian. She had an innate interest in music as her mother played the piano and served as a music coach at school. Sharon has loved singing since she was a child, and her mother often told her that she had a natural swing in her voice.

She completed her education at All Saints Boarding School in Nainital, Uttarakhand, India, and joined Lady Sri Ram College for Girls in Delhi, before dropping out and running to Mumbai to explore herself. At the age of 17, she joined “Sistas”, an advertising agency. Later, Sharon joined Air India, during which she realized that she was born to be a singer. Her first job as a singer was in a nightclub in Oberoi, Mumbai for Rs 350 a night. From 2004 to 2005, she studied for a master’s degree in communications/business corporate communications at Dale Carnegie College in New York.

She is known as the original indie pop star of Hindi music due to her similar style to Joan Baez.
