Shayan Ali News
Actor and influencer Mohammed Shayan Ali used social media on Tuesday (May 16) to describe his treatment by Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and the events that led to his permanent exile from the State of Pakistan.
Ali described how the ISPR, the Pakistani military’s public relations division, had directed him to produce anti-Indian propaganda. He was then charged with working for the Indian Intelligence Agency, R&AW, and being a Jewish agent.
“People who know me are familiar that when I refused to work in a music video for DG-ISPR with the name of “Kashmir Hon Mein,” they started accusing me of being a RAW and JEW agent only because of my blonde hair,” he remarked.
The music video is currently available on YouTube as well. If you type “Kashmir Hon Mein,” you can quickly locate it. He continued, saying that the focus of this movie was the purported “Torture of the Indian Army on Kashmiris.”
Born in Pakistan and fluent in Urdu, Shayan Ali noted that the Pakistan Intelligence Agency frequently recruited personalities like him for promotional work. He acknowledged that he declined the invitation to make a propaganda music video about Jammu and Kashmir and told his audience as much.
“Almost all of my fellow influencers agreed with the ISI for this music video, with the exception of me. When I told them that what they were displaying was incorrect and completely at odds with reality, this was what provoked them.
The man claimed, “I have always refused to be a part of the fake campaigns of the ISI and Pakistani Government and I used to refuse it every time whenever they contacted me, but since this was about Kashmir and it was a very big issue, and after I refused, they started having doubt on me and started treating me like a RAW agent.”
The influencer, who counts 18K Twitter followers, claimed that due to ongoing ISI harassment, he had no choice but to permanently leave Pakistan. He claimed that the Pakistani spy service had even plotted his murder.
“I left Pakistan in September 2019, however that fact was not updated on the state of Pakistan. When the “PTA (Pakistan Telecommunication Authority)” learned of a recent social media post I made critical of Pakistan, they sent the Sindh Police to arrest me. At that point, they realised I was no longer a resident of Pakistan, he said.
Shayan Ali claims that the Pakistani military junta was alarmed when they realised they couldn’t reach him. As a result, he frequently receives threats of death and censorship.
