Sheetal Mukundan Menon was born in 1982. She is a Mangalorean Malayali. In 2003, after completing her studies, she moved to Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. She received her Diploma in Culinary Arts from Le Cordon Bleu, London, England. Her father Mukundan Menon was an officer in the Indian Army. When Mukundan Menon died of a heart attack in 1988, her father was in Nashik, Maharashtra and Sheetal, and her mother and sister were in Kerala, India. - She revealed in an interview that she was very shy when she was young and found it difficult to get to know people. Sheetal is a trained Indian classical dancer who specializes in Bharatanatyam, Odissi and Kathak. Despite Sheetal’s excuses as a child, her mother forced her to take dance classes.
