“Taylor put me in an Uber to go home and I got a phone call and I went and rerouted my Uber and I was, I don’t know, a little bit infatuated, I would say, with some of the…staff there I don’t really know who it was. But anyway, [it] Nevermind. It happened. Taylor came and grabbed me and obviously the next morning and the next few days I was embarrassed … I just knew I shouldn’t have been out there.”

He added that the situation escalated when Green received a DM from the woman that left her “all upset, as she should be.”

He recalled feeling like a “f*cking idiot,” adding: “Then she was like, you know what, we’ve lost a lot of trust here. And I just said, OK, well, that’s a bad way to go into such a big serious, one of the biggest decisions of his life also in her name.”

“I don’t want her to go into it like this guy is a right idiot, a joker, whatever you want to say,” he continued. “Well yeah, we just kind of finished. That’s where he finished. I still care about her. Still talk to her family a lot.”

PEOPLE confirmed in July 2022 that the Bravo stars had split, with insiders noting that the problems in their romance stemmed from Rose’s lack of interest in fidelity.

“Shep has a real problem with monogamy and has refused to commit to Taylor, telling her he doesn’t want to be with just one person and change his lifestyle,” a source said at the time.

“She’s incredibly hurt, but she knows she deserves a guy who will fight for her, not someone who’s so selfish,” another insider added. “They’re going to regret this.”

Following the split, Green, 29, got hitched to her co-star Austen Kroll after filming the show’s Season 8 reunion, shocking the cast. She later confessed in an episode of the show in November Southern charm that she was the one who started things between the two of them.

“I caught him off guard though, that was the thing,” Green said of Kroll, 36. “I initiated it. I take full responsibility for that.”

However, the couple’s relationship never took off, she explained: “There could have been a real relationship, but it just wasn’t.”

As for Rose, he would still consider marriage, saying further When reality hits with Jax and Brittany, “There’s something to be said about marriage and children resetting you. I mean, if not, then you’re really in trouble. But she should. It just realigns your priorities and literally makes the connection that you have to go this way and you should go this way.”

“And it should be a good thing for you and a good thing for them and it should make this beautiful family. I think there is something to be said,” he continued. “I hunted for every whim, all my pleasures, I didn’t stop there. I don’t know if you should do it your whole life because maybe it is in a way, maybe there should be a balance. You know? And you should make sacrifices and you have to do things that you don’t do, you don’t die to do. But you have to do them because you are responsible for it.”

“I would never go into that saying, ‘I have to change, so I will do it,'” he concluded. “But I think it’s a beautiful thing and something to think about.”
