Shetland star Douglas Henshall’s new Netflix drama sounds amazing – and the release date is so soon!

Douglas Henshall is a familiar face on our TV screens thanks to his portrayal of Detective Jimmy Perez in the hit BBC drama Shetland. While fans were disappointed when the actor finally became the show’s male lead in season seven, he’ll soon be playing a very different role in Netflix’s upcoming action series.

New TV series, originally called Palomino but now it has a title Who is Erin Carter?, is an all-female horror film by The Crown producer, Left Bank Pictures. Keep reading for everything we know about the upcoming show.

The new eight-part series, scheduled to premiere on August 24, is about a British teacher living in Spain, Erin Collantes, who finds herself caught in a supermarket robbery. After one of the bandits claims to recognize her, her life is in danger of being disrupted.

The synopsis reads: “Meet Erin – a mother, a wife, a teacher living the expatriate’s dream in Spain. Or so we thought until a supermarket robbery was revealed. Erin is clearly not what she says she is, but how far will she go to keep your true identity?”

Douglas will play Daniel Long in the upcoming action adventure and will appear alongside actress Evin Ahmad, who will portray the main character, Erin.

Other cast members include Sean Teale (survive) as Jordi, Susannah Fielding (This time with Alan Partridge) as Olivia, Indica Watson as Harper, and Charlotte Vega (Wrong Turn) as Penelope.

The series is written by Jack Lothian [Doc Martin, Strike Back], who also serves as host and executive producer. Rob Bullock and Andy Harries also executive produce the series.

Douglas has clearly been a busy man since he left Shetland as he will also appear in the new BBC adaptation of Agatha Christie.

The upcoming two-part horror film, based on the novel Murder Easily, is set in 1950s London and follows cop Luke Fitzwilliam as he meets a woman named Miss Pinkerton on a train to London, where she tells him that a killer is hiding. in the tranquility of the village of Wychwood in England under Ashe.

While the villagers believed the deaths were random, Miss Pinkerton knew otherwise. Later, when she is found dead on her way to Scotland Yard, Fitzwilliam sets out to find her killer before he attacks again.

An all-star cast, including Downton Abbey star Penelope Wilton, is currently filming the film to be adapted for the small screen by Siân Ejiwunmi-Le Berre and directed by Meenu Gaur.

Meanwhile, Penelope Wilton plays Miss Pinkerton, CrownSinead Matthews describes Miss Waynflete and the spectre Actor Mathew Baynton plays Dr. Thomas.

Tom Riley, Mark Bonnar, Tamzin Outhwaite, Nimra Bucha, Jon Pointing and newcomer Phoebe Licorish also appear in the cast.
