I always thought divorce was a dirty word until I was divorced twice. It’s interesting how words can have such powerful meanings and associations. As a divorcee, I know this first hand. The first time I went through a divorce, I was so scared. I felt like I was a failure and that I was doing something wrong at the time. I felt like I let everyone down and even felt selfish. I feel like I’ve let my parents down, I feel like I’ve let my kids down, and even to some extent I feel like I’ve let God down. The word divorce is such a dirty word. Now imagine having to go through it again. Woohoo. That’s terrible. Having been divorced once before, I felt the risk would be greater the second time. I still have more to prove.
