The footage shows the violent trio trying to force him into a waiting white van in Luton, Bedfordshire.
The thugs also tried to handcuff the victim, who could be seen struggling desperately to escape their clutches.
Dominic Croucher, Jamie Williams and Paul Morrell hatched a kidnapping plot after discovering the victim had made some money.
On September 11, he received threatening messages trying to intimidate him into handing over the cash.
Terrifyingly, the trio also watched the man and his family before two of them set fire to the fence at his home.
They also exchanged messages as they discussed the kidnapping plot and talked about the “life-changing money” they would receive.
But their plan was thwarted when the victim managed to escape – causing the panicked robbers to flee without handcuffs.
Police were able to track down Williams and Morrell thanks to DNA left on the cuffs.
Officers also identified Croucher as the driver of the white van after using CCTV and ANPR.
Phones seized from the thugs showed they discussed how they “burned his gaff” in relation to setting fire to the victim’s fence.
Croucher, 28, from Swansea, was jailed for eight years and three months after admitting conspiracy to kidnap and conspiracy to blackmail.
Williams, 40, and Morrell, 39, both from Doncaster, were jailed for 10 years and six months after pleading guilty to the same charges.
Detective Constable Daniel Matcham, from Bedfordshire Police, said: “This was an escalating series of events where the offenders attempted to abduct the victim using serious violence against him and when this did not work they continued their revenge by threatening him and setting fire to his fence and garden shed .”
“Their terrifying and vicious actions left the victim in fear not only for her life, but for the lives of her family.”
