Local Publican John Feerick revealed some of his nightly staff and neighbors came across a horrible collision
The shards were scattered hundreds of meters down the main street of the village – with doors, wheels, and even the engine of cars that sent flying in breaking.
Officers are now examining the shots taken in a car in moments before a terrible collision.
The locals ran to help men before the emergency rooms arrived at the scene, near Feerick’s hotel and pub.
The guys were transported to Tullamore Hospital, where they were still in critical condition last night.
One local said: “It was a shocking collision. It seems that the car hit two trees before continuing the road.
“It is really a wonder that the two are alive, but they are badly in the hospital – we hope they will be able to break through.”
The scary CCTV shots show that the car loses control before inserting into trees and career on the road hundreds of meters.
Gardai the collision probing became aware of the shots from the car in minutes before the collision.

The village was closed to traffic most of Sunday, while the Garda Forensics investigators examined the scene.
The cops called on those who may have seen the collision to report.
