Shraddha Joshi Sharma is a 2007-batch Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer. She is the wife of IPS officer Manoj Kumar Sharma, whose biopic “Failure 12” is scheduled to be released in October 2023.

Shraddha Joshi Sharma was born on Monday, March 5, 1979 (44 years old; as of 2023) in Almora, Uttar Pradesh, India (now in the state of Uttarakhand). Her zodiac sign is Pisces. She received her education from the Uttar Pradesh Board and secured 13th rank in the state’s Class 12 board examination. She received her Bachelor of Science in Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery from Gurukula Kangri (Deemed University) in Haridwar, Uttarakhand. After completing her formal education, she worked as a doctor in a hospital in Uttarakhand. Soon after, she started preparing for the Uttarakhand Provincial Civil Services (UK-PCS) exam. Shraddha claimed in an interview that she and her friends decided to become civil servants after a woman who suffered domestic abuse died in hospital with severe burns all over her body. Shraddha started preparing for the exam; however, due to lack of guidance in her hometown, she decided to move to New Delhi and joined Drishti IAS.

Manoj Kumar Sharma struck up a relationship with Shraddha Joshi while preparing for UPSC. According to him, he was initially hesitant to propose to her because he failed in class 12; however, he proposed to her and said that he would work to change their future if she accepted his proposal. He also claimed that Shraddha always motivated him to prepare for the UPSC civil services examination and supported him despite strong objections from her family.

In 2005, Shraddha Joshi Sharma successfully cleared the PCS exam. Later, she was appointed as Deputy Collector of Nainital. In 2007, she appeared for the civil services examination conducted by UPSC and successfully passed it. She is posted in the Indirect Tax (Customs and Goods and Services Tax) Department of the Indian Revenue Service. Later, she studied at the National Institute of Direct Taxation, Nagpur, Maharashtra. On September 18, 2007, she completed the training module. Thereafter, she was posted to the Tourism Department, Government of Maharashtra. On June 21, 2018, she was appointed as Additional Commissioner, Mahila Arthik Vikas Mahamandal (MAVIM), Ministry of Women and Child Development, Mumbai. There, she worked with many women-run self-help groups (SHGs) and played a key role in drafting and implementing gender-neutral policies in the state. She later became Vice Chairman and Managing Director of MAVIM.

On September 30, 2022, she was posted to Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC), Mumbai and was appointed as Managing Director. At MTDC, she played a crucial role in signing the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for bilateral tourism promotion between Maharashtra and Japan. She has also worked in tax investigations in the Goods and Services Tax (GST) department.

- Shraddha said in an interview that when her husband Manoj was undergoing police training at SVPNPA, he would call her in the evening or during breaks to inquire about her UPSC preparations. Talking about this she said,
He was at SVPNPA at the time, and whenever he had time, he would call me from his Docomo landline. He had a busy schedule, but he still took the time to ask me how I was getting ready. He also asked me some general knowledge questions as he was very knowledgeable. He also keeps me motivated. “
- According to Shraddha, her parents were hesitant to marry her off to Manoj even though he had become a police officer as he was posted in the Maharashtra cadre. At that time, Shraddha was working as a PCS officer in Nainital, Uttarakhand. To convince her parents, Manoj lied to them that if they got married and he produced a marriage certificate to the government, the government would allow him to transfer cadres from Maharashtra to Uttarakhand on compassionate grounds state.

- Shraddha said in an interview that she learned how to use a gun while undergoing IRS training.
