Shreya Basu is an Indian singer who rose to fame after posting a 3am video on Instagram singing the Hindi song “Mere Dholna”. In 2016, she became one of the finalists of the Indian reality show “The Voice India”.

Shreya Basu was born in Delhi on Thursday, March 23, 2006 (age 16 in 2022). Her zodiac sign is Aries. She attended Indian Public School in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. When Shreya was two years old, she used to sit patiently next to her brother and practice singing. At the age of 3, she started learning classical music from her mentor Shri Mahesh Bharti.

In 2015, Shreya won the second prize in the singing competition TV show “i-genius Young Singing Stars” where Salim Merchant was one of the judges.

At the age of 10, Shreya participated in the Indian singing reality competition TV series The Voice (2016), which aired on &TV. During the blind audition process, her performance was highly appreciated by judges Shekhar Ravjiani, Shaan and Neeti Mohan. Referring to the famous singer Shreya Ghoshal, Shekhar Ravjiani praised Shreya Basu and said:
I met the elder Shreya (Ghoshal) and today I also met the younger Shreya (Basu). ”
Shreya made it to the semi-finals; however, she remained one of the six finalists in the competition.

In 2021, Shreya participated in Indian Idol Season 12. Unfortunately, after performing well in the second round of auditions, she was not selected for further consideration.

On November 10, 2022, Shreya posted a video in which she sang the Hindi song “Mere Dholna” from the Bollywood film Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007) in the basement of her building at 3 am. The video has received over 17 million views and has been retweeted by many popular Instagram pages.
