Shreyas Talpade is an Indian actor, director, theater artist and producer who works primarily in Hindi and Marathi films. He came to limelight with his role as Iqbal in the Hindi film Iqbal (2005).

Film legal notice
In 2016, Shreyas, along with the producers of the Marathi film Wah Taj, received a legal notice for spreading misinformation to the public. The Taj Mahal film team distributed posters in and around Agra claiming that the Taj Mahal would not be open to tourists from September 23, 2016, following the court verdict in the Tukaram case. Later, the film crew clarified that this was a publicity stunt to mislead the public. Talking about the incident in an interview, Shriyas said,
I understand that the film has sent a legal notice to the producers, but this is just part of the film’s publicity and marketing strategy, and I don’t understand why it should be pushed to another level and bombed. “
Suspected of theft
In 2021, film producer Rahul Bhandare accused Shreyas Talpade and Suresh Sawant (Indian film director) of stealing The set of Albatya Galbatya, a Marathi play owned by Rahul. Talking to reporters, Rahul said Shreyas and Suresh shot the TV commercial using Albatya Garbhatia’s sets during the coronavirus lockdown. He lodged a complaint with the Shivdi police station under IPR. He further stated that Shreyas and Suresh violated COVID-19 norms multiple times and used his property without seeking his permission. Later, Shriyas denied all such accusations.

- During graduation, he participated in theater performances, but his mother wanted him to work in a bank. He even took the bank entrance exam but failed.
- In an interview, he shared memories of his difficult days. He said,
I remember going to the Mukta Arts office in Bandra to send my pictures because Subhash Ghai was casting for a film and I was looking for a role, not a lead role. While climbing the stairs, I saw posters of his blockbusters, including Karma and Ram Lakhan, and thought, “Oh my god, when will I get a poster like this?” A few years later, they called me to star in “Karma” and “Ram Lakhan.” Apna Sapna Money Money”, when I climbed the stairs, I saw a big poster of Iqbal on the wall.
