Profession
After graduation, Shruti started working as an engineer at Steria India Limited. She made her first YouTube video in 2011 while in the US. She started uploading more beauty and fashion videos on her YouTube channel ‘ShrutiArjunAnand’. After returning to India from the US in 2013, she quit her engineering job and started working on YouTube full time. In an interview, she said:
I uploaded my first video in the US – it was about hairstyles. Before shooting the video, I would try different hairstyles and people seemed to like my work. I thought maybe this is what I am good at. That was in 2012; by early 2013, I was getting paid from YouTube through the YouTube Partner Program (YPP). In April 2013, she returned to India with her family.
Apart from makeup videos, she also makes comedy videos on her YouTube channel. She is the owner of two companies, namely, ‘ShrutiArjunAnand Digital Media’ Pvt. Ltd. and ‘Shruti Makeup & Beauty Private Limited’.
