She is in a relationship with a businessman named Sumanth Billava. In her Instagram post, she announced her marriage to Sumnath. Later, in an interview, she said,
Initially, we connected through phone conversations and it was only in October last year that we started seeing each other regularly. He lived near my home and was also from Mangalore and we realised that we were attracted to each other. I didn’t want to waste time on dating and thought of marriage. I told my mom about Sumant and she also spoke to him. He gave his nod and we decided to continue our relationship. It happened too fast but it was a good thing.

She started her career as a model and has done various TVCs and print ads including Muliya Jewellers and Gionee Mobiles.

In 2004, she was discovered by South Indian film director KS Vasanthakumar and offered to play the role of Rakshita in the Tamil film Machie. She has acted in many Tamil films such as Thirudiya Idhayathai (2005), Oru Ponnu Oru Paiyan (2006) and Anjadiru (2009). Her debut Kannada film was Jackpot (2006), in which she played the role of Preethi. Other Kannada films she has acted in include Chanda (2007), Slum Bala (2008), Anjadiru (2009), Nanalla (2011) and Naragunda Bandaya (2020).
Apart from acting and modelling, she has also worked as an executive producer. In 2021, she participated in the television reality show Bigg Boss Kannada 8 as a contestant.

In 2013, Shubha was accused of having an extramarital affair with South Indian actor Dunya Vijay by Dunya Vijay’s wife, but Shubha denied all such allegations.
