Simranjit Kaur was born on Monday, July 10, 1995, in Chakar village, Ludhiana, Punjab (age 26; as of 2021). Her zodiac sign is Cancer. When Simranjit was a teenager, her sister was considering boxing as a career option. Seeing her eldest daughter excelling in the sport, Simranjit’s mother encouraged her to choose boxing as a career option. When Simranjit was just 15 years old, he joined Sher-E-Punjab Sports Academy in Chakar village to learn the basics of boxing.
As of 2020, Simranjit is pursuing his bachelor’s degree (second year) at Chandigarh University.

Simranjit is the daughter of Kamal Jeet Singh and Rajpal Kaur. Her father used to work in a grocery store in Chakal village. He died of a heart attack in 2018. She has an elder sister Sonia Kaur (employed by BSF) and two younger brothers named Golu Batth and Akash Deep Singh Batth.

Simranjit started her boxing career in 2010. Her breakthrough came in 2011 when she won a bronze medal at the 6th National Junior Girls Boxing Championships in Patiala. Next, she won a bronze medal at the 4th Inter-District Women’s National Boxing Championships (2012) in Visakhapatnam.
In the same year, she participated in the 8th Junior Girls National Boxing Championships in Patiala and won a silver medal. In 2013, she represented India in the 60kg category at the World Youth Championships and won a bronze medal.
She then won a bronze medal at the 16th National Senior (Elite) Women’s Boxing Championships held at Simpang Gaigaon, Guwahati. In 2017, Kaur won two bronze medals at the International Senior Championships in Kazakhstan.
In 2018, she won her first career international boxing 64kg gold medal at the Ahmed Komet International Boxing Championships in Istanbul, Turkey.
In the same year, she participated in the 10-member Indian team at the AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships in New Delhi and won a bronze medal in the light welterweight category. The squad is led by Mary Kom. In 2019, she won a gold medal at the 23rd Presidential International Boxing Championships in Labuan Bajru, Indonesia.
Simranjit qualified for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics by winning a silver medal in the women’s lightweight (57-60kg) category at the Asian Boxing Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Amman, Jordan.
