Singing Bird Goes Viral for Hilariously Keeping Owner Up at 7 a.m. with Earth, Wind & Fire’s ‘September’

It may be the beginning of March, but for one bird it’s already September 21st!

Cockatiel Kiki, a parrot with more than 3 million TikTok followers, has gone viral again for singing the chorus of “September” by Earth, Wind & Fire over and over again.

This time, however, Kiki’s timing was not ideal for his owner.

In a clip shared on Kiki’s official TikTok page this week — captioned “It’s 7am” — Kiki can be seen nodding off in the corner of her owner’s room as she sits atop a fish tank, showing little remorse as she belts out the chorus of the 1978 ear worm.

“Kiki, it’s 7 a.m.,” Kiki’s owner says in the video, before asking the bird to “be quiet.” After only a short break, Kiki immediately returned to work.

“Send help please where is the off button on the parrot,” the owner wrote.

The comments section of the clip, which has since racked up more than 21 million likes in just over two days, features scores of fans demanding “justice for Kiki” and joking that the bird’s owner “didn’t shut him down, he just put him off.”

“Who is the manager of the bird? I need to contact them about putting this star on my next song 🔥,” wrote Norwegian DJ Alan Walker.

“Stillness!” *defiantly goes up in key* 😂🤣😂,” another commenter wrote, while another fan called Kiki “the definition of an early riser.”

Kiki has gotten a lot of love online for his musical performances over the years — even after his last brush with fame. In a viral video from December 2020, the bird was even seen singing the same song responsible for his current moment in the spotlight.

“I came out of my room and put my phone on record to see what my bird would do,” his owner wrote, alongside a shot of Kiki looking at herself in the mirror while singing the chorus of “September” while nodding her head.

“You have no peace listening to this for 4 years,” one TikToker commented below the clip.

Besides, Kiki knows more songs than just “September”. In 2021, a viral video of the coquette shows him singing “If You’re Happy and You Know It” while tapping his beak on top of the TV.
