As a Tottenham fan, Chapman asked Ferguson if his beloved team would ever win the Premier League.

In deadpan fashion, the Scotsman (82) immediately replied: “No.”

He then burst out laughing, before saying again, “No.”

Chapman, feigning sadness, replied, “What’s so funny about that? You broke my heart!”

With his hands in his pockets, Ferguson said: “61 is the last time they won… well that’s a long time.

“But today’s proposal with Liverpool and Manchester City so powerful…even for United.”

Chapman then cheekily chimed in, saying: “I think Spurs are more likely to win these days than United.”

Ferguson immediately replied: “No way.”

At this point Chapman cut the interview short, smiling and saying, “Thank you, Mr. Alex!

“Nice to talk to Sir Alex Ferguson as always.”

Fans loved the exchange, with one former United boss writing: “What a man.”

Another Red Devil contradicted Fergie, however, writing: “Spurs can surprise us.”

But a third tweeted: “He didn’t tell a lie so I don’t know why the host is so hurt.”

And another pointed out: “Didn’t he say 10 years ago that City would not dominate England in his lifetime?”

Fergie is still a regular at Old Trafford, having retired in 2013.

He can often be seen in the posh seats at the Theater of Dreams and has even been seen sitting next to Ineos boss Sir Dave Brailsford and Sir Jim Ratcliffe at recent matches.
