Janelle Brown has a theory about her now ex-husband Kody Brown.
During Friday’s episode Sister Wives Strike Back: Part 1cast members addressed the clip of Kody, 54, recalling how he felt “so betrayed” that Christine Brown would “p— talk” to him to their children after “all that [he’s] over” for their marriage. But Christine, 51, denied wrongdoing, saying their “frustrated” children went to her with their problems, which “validated” how she felt in the process.
Watching that same clip, the Brown family patriarch’s second wife, Janelle, pointed out a common thing that Kody kept doing that set off the alarm bells for her.
“Kody has this thing where he says, ‘I’ve done so much and sacrificed so much for this relationship,'” she recalled. “Well, there’s a red flag right there. If he feels like he had to make sacrifices for the relationship, maybe it’s better that it’s over because it’s a two-part equation in marriage.”
Janelle, 54, added: “We’ve both been working but he wants to act like he’s put in a herculean effort into this marriage and how dare she betray him.”
Sister Wives’ Kody Brown is ‘very interested’ in reconciling with Janelle and feels they can ‘find trust again’

Kody’s marriages to Janelle, Christine and Meri Brown fell apart within 14 months. After decades of polygamy, he now practices monogamy with his fourth wife, Robyn Brown.
On Friday’s episode, Janelle also answered a fan question about whether she would have left her marriage earlier if she had known what her life was like today.
“Honestly, for me it was all about the kids,” she said. “I would have stayed if Kody had remained the father that he had been to my children for many, many years. So when the relationship with the children ended, that cost was no longer a factor.”
Sister wives‘ Janelle still has ‘a lot of respect’ for Kody — but he thinks Christine’s digs mean she’s not over him
Answering another fan question, Janelle shared what advice she would give her younger self.
“There were a lot of things I didn’t strive for, like the opportunity to get an education, and even setting boundaries in my relationships with my sisters. I was always afraid to rock the boat,” she explained. “I think I would tell myself to be brave and rock the boat and have those tough conversations.”
