After a tumultuous journey through polygamy, Kody Brown reflects on the lessons he’s learned in love and marriage.
The Brown family patriarch’s marriages to Meri Brown, Janelle Brown and Christine Brown fell apart within 14 months. Sunday Sister wives: one on one episode explored what’s next for the 54-year-old now that Robyn Brown is his latest wife.
Starting with Janella, she talked to host Sukanya Krishnan about the possibility of Kody taking on another sister.
“Now he’s talking more and more about, ‘How do we move forward in monogamy.’ So I think that’s where he’s headed,” said Janelle, also 54, before noting that she doesn’t see Robyn bringing another potential sister into the equation. “I don’t predict. If I did, I’ll bet you $1,000 right now and come find me. If you do, I’ll give you $1,000.”

Janelle’s stance stemmed from her belief that Kody, 54, and Robyn, 45, both seem “very happy” in their relationship. “They’ve found something together at this stage in their lives that seems very profound and I think it’s working. And that’s okay,” she added.
Sukanya then asked Kody the same question, who stated that he “wouldn’t be interested” in Robyn hiring another sister.
“I would have to tell that woman that I will never love you as much as I love her,” he added. “I know better now.”

Robyn, however, admittedly wasn’t sure she could find happiness on her own with Kody after he broke his promise to build a strong, multi-member family together.
“It’s weird. To be loving and respectful to Kody, I want to say yes, but I just don’t know exactly how this works,” she said. “It’s weird. I feel like it’s disrespectful.”
Robyn also said it’s “disrespectful to be happy” with Kody because she didn’t get Janelle, Meri and Christina’s blessing off camera despite them expressing approval of the relationship on camera.

“I need it off camera, in my face [conversation] because I don’t know how it feels to be disrespectful to his children,” she explained through tears. “It seems disrespectful to the commitments I’ve made.”
Robyn added, “My commitment to them, to their kids, to Kody about this family has not been broken. And I don’t know how to break that. I don’t know how to end it.”
