Sister Wives’ Kody Brown Questions His ‘Distant’ Marriage to Meri Brown: It ‘Doesn’t Have Any Fire’ (Exclusive)

Kody Brown no longer feels passion in his marriage to Meri Brown.

In Sunday’s exclusive PEOPLE sneak peek Sister wives episode, the patriarch of the Brown family talks about how his marriage to Meri is strained and how he’s lost the spark needed to keep it going.

“I feel like Meri and I had a pretty friendly relationship,” he says to the camera. “It’s far away, I don’t see her often. I don’t know what to do with a marriage that should be eternal, but there is no fire in it.”

Sister wives‘ Kody feels ‘uncomfortable’ amid Robyn’s ‘pressure’ to reconcile with Meri: ‘I don’t need that’

Despite the rift between them, Robyn Brown shares her hopes for a reconciliation between Kody and Meri in her confessional.

“If Meri just stays long enough and we get through what’s going on with Christine [Brown]and even you know, kody and janelle [Brown]come up with whatever he’s going to do, and he can go through all his anger and his emotions about it all, so they have a chance to work it out,” she says.

In January, Meri and Kody announced their separation in a joint message posted on their Instagram pages, writing, “After more than a decade of working on our relationship in our own unique ways, we have made the decision to end our marriage permanently.”

The original Brown couple have experienced many problems over the years, and Mary’s catfish drama — in which she literally bonded with a woman posing as a male fan — served as a turning point in their strained relationship. From Mera’s perspective, she and Kody were “definitely” in “limbo land” for a while before they announced they were separating after 32 years of marriage.

“I don’t like living in a limbo country. And I feel like I live there a lot, but what I like now is that every limbo country I live in depends on me and it’s not based on anyone else,” she said. recently told PEOPLE.

“I wish we could have had some of the conversations earlier. And also, I don’t know if I would have been ready to have some of the conversations sooner,” she continued. “So it’s not like I can live my life with regrets and wish something had happened. I think we all do to some extent, but I know there are things I should have learned and I know there are things I should have done so that I could to be where I am now with the whole thing.”

Like Meri, Christine and Janelle also ended their marriages with Kody. Robyn is now Kody’s only wife.
