Sister Wives' Kody Brown Says It Takes 'a Lot of Work' to Care for His Hair: 'I Need It to Be Pretty'

Sister wives Kody Brown opens up about what actually goes into caring for his blonde locks.

During the new episode Sister wives which premiered on Sunday, Dec. 1, the father of 18, 55, revealed his plans for a trip to Las Vegas as he prepared to visit his brothers for what he calls a “guy trip” — and showed off his hair care routine for his well-known blond curls.

One scene shows Kody’s two brothers, Scott and Michael, standing outside his house waiting for him to come outside. As they waited, Scott joked that Brown was “probably getting his hair done,” and the pair shared a laugh as they showed off their bald heads.

Just a moment later, Kody enters the frame with a hairnet covering his hair and jokes, “Everybody always wants to talk about my hair, but I have to work a lot to take care of this hair.”

Kody then points to his headgear as his brothers laugh. As he removes his hairnet, his signature blond curls spring out, and the brothers let out a semi-sarcastic “Wow.”

“Listen, if I don’t blow dry it properly, the curls don’t come out,” he adds in the interview, before a photo of him sporting a striking blonde mullet from his high school days appears on the screen.

“Even when he was a pre-teen, his hair was always important,” Scott says, before Kody chimed in: “Don’t be jealous. It’s a lot of work.”

In another interview, the TV star adds that it’s “a lot of work” to maintain her blonde curls, especially since she’s getting grayer.

“I need to be pretty, and then the hair net helps the curls,” Kody says, as the camera shows him letting his hair down and using product to gather his curls.

“You know, if I don’t want to spend the whole time blow-drying my hair, it’s a little cheesy, but it works,” she finishes, showing off her hairnet routine.

Elsewhere on Sunday Sister wives episode, things got a little more serious as Kody opened up about the drama surrounding the property disputes he and wife Robyn (his last remaining wife in their former polygamous marriage) had with his ex-wife Janelle.

In one scene, he talks to another ex-wife, Meri Brown, to discuss the final settlement of their property in Flagstaff, Ariz., and openly talks about “fucking” Janelle while the family tries to pay off their house.

“[Janelle] she doesn’t trust me because she would fuck me if she could. That’s what I believe. Okay, and I’ll be honest, I was thinking about banging her,” Kody said with a laugh. “Okay, I’m being honest.”

“But I won’t. My wife won’t let me with a guilty conscience,” he finished, referring to Robyn.

Sister wives airs Sundays at 10pm ET on TLC.
