Sister wives star Meri Brown talks about her recent big move from Flagstaff, Ariz., to Parowan, Utah.
During Sunday’s November 17 episode Sister wivesMeri, 53, was preparing to move from Flagstaff to Parowan, where her bed and breakfast, Lizzie’s Heritage Inn, is located. PEOPLE caught up with her during an exclusive interview to ask her about her big move, in which she made some surprising comments about Flagstaff.
“Not. Not at all,” Brown bluntly tells PEOPLE when asked if she misses the city. “Flagstaff was—it’s beautiful. We all know I love trees. Watch any season and you’ll know that Meri loves trees. And it’s beautiful. It really is.”
She adds: “I lived there for three or four years and never made any friends.”

During the exclusive interview, Meri discussed several topics, including her life after officially ending her 32-year polyamorous marriage to Kody Brown and whether or not she’ll be changing her last name. But when it is Sister wives Asked to further explain why she didn’t make friends while living in Flagstaff, the alum explained why the city never felt like home.
“It just wasn’t for me. I moved there because family did,” she tells PEOPLE. “It was never on my radar, ‘Oh, Flagstaff, Arizona. We should live there.’ ”
She continued: “I think it’s really important to find your place, especially in this day and age. We’re all in our 50s, it’s like, ‘Just find your place. Do what makes you happy.’ ”
In the end, returning to Parowan, the place she once called home, seemed like the right move for the reality star, who tells PEOPLE it “made sense to me because I already owned a house.”

“Contrary to popular belief in my family, I didn’t buy it as an escape route,” she reveals to PEOPLE. “I’m just putting it out there. I bought it because it had always been a dream of mine to bring my old family home back into the family, so it made sense at the time.”
He adds: “Why continue to live in a city where I don’t know anyone, I have no friends? Kody and I are totally breaking up. I won’t be part of the family. There’s no point in me being there. And I had a house in Parowan, so let’s do it. And I gave myself two years to settle and then figure things out. Two years are coming up.”
Sister wives airs Sundays at 10:00 PM ET on TLC, and PEOPLE got an exclusive first look at the December 15 episode. The sneak peek clip shows Kody telling his last remaining wife, Robyn Brown, that he wants to know that “God has been my companion with you and no one can take you away.”
